Relaxation - Not Enough Time For That?

Gone are the simple days of rocking chairs on the wrap-around front porch. Gone are the Sunday afternoon drives into the country with a blanket and picnic basket.
We do still flock to the beach, but we bring all sorts of activities along with us. Floating boats and rafts, volleyballs and water games, loud music boxes and junk food. Relaxation is given over to activities that we consider to be fun.
"Well isn't that relaxation?" you ask. Not really. That's still active stimulation and relaxation is the lack of active stimulation. Have you ever gone home from the beach and taken a nap? Why not take a nap under a shade tree or a beach umbrella? Dozing to the sound of the waves is excellent relaxation. And you can create this kind of relaxation at home or on a lunch break while resting in your parked car. It's called mental imagery.
Certainly you can find 15 minutes to plunk in an Imagery CD and go to the beach or garden or any other nice place that you create in your mind.
Perhaps you are thinking ... that's ridiculous. How can fifteen minutes of passive listening to a CD make any difference at all? And I say, oh yes it can make all the difference, if you will but do it. However you actually have to put the CD into the thing that makes the sound and sit back and close your eyes for a short time until you feel the sweet relief of letting go of the tension in your body. And all the while slowing down the mental chatter of your mind, as you listen to the music in the background and the sound of my voice talking to you, and guiding you toward that wonderful brain wave state called Alpha.
Fifteen minutes of deep relaxation has been said to be the equivalent of a 2 hour nap. Just think how productive you can be at work when you have returned after a 15 minute-two hour lunch nap.
Visit my Resources page for lots of CD titles to choose from. If you don't see one that addresses your particular needs, email me or call me 802-767-9227 and I will create a CD process specifically for you.
Why WORK to relax when some simple technology is at your fingertips. Your CD player can make relaxation as easy as sitting in the rocking chair on the front porch for a few minutes a day.
The words are for your mind and the music is for your body.
