What Is Guided Imagery?

Suspended Bridge Imagery is a word that describes any awareness that comes to you through the five senses of sight, sound, taste, touch and smell. Every sight you see, every sound you hear, every bite of food you taste, every object or emotion you feel and every aroma you smell results in a change in billions of atoms within your body.

This means that imagery is an internal event in your body and it is occurring naturally all day long and even while you sleep. Images consciously created in the mind from a memory are like the original event in the way that an echo is to a sound or a pastel is to original bold colors. Remembering positive upbeat events throughout your day will have a positive effect upon the well-being of your mind and the health of your body. Conversely remembering or ruminating upon troubling memories and images will have a negative effect upon the mind and body.

Imagery is a natural method of creating what you desire or of unknowingly manifesting what you do not desire. This occurs as a direct result of what you dwell upon in your thoughts. For instance dwelling upon angry thoughts results in a matching body chemistry reaction and can set the stage for physical problems in the body.

This begins to explain the phrase, "Thoughts are things." Thoughts become emotions and emotions are the result of physical changes within our bodies. When our thoughts are peaceful, our bodies are reflecting the peacefulness and have a stronger immune function (resistance to dis-ease.) The billions and trillions of atoms in our bodies respond to the quality of our thoughts. The resulting images can bring us discomfort or that wonderful sense of well-being.

When we feel at ease, we become more interested in the world around us and we become more productive. It is through this channel of productivity that we find satisfaction and fulfillment. Our productivity may take the form of creating beautiful and useful objects, harmonious relationships and delightful experiences.

An Imagery Guide can help you harness your power of imagination, so that you consistently and spontaneously form the kind of inner imagery that supports your desires.
